e23 chronicles the OVNI adventure Day 9: Hangover Afterglow Slow start, deliberately taking our time. Woke up tasting a pasty layer of Kettle One and lime on my tongue. Head had a dull ache, but not much in the way of a hangover--instead, really just feeling the overall afterglow of an evening which worked well musically and visually, and which was well received. For the first time in over a week, not really feeling under pressure to get new or corrective work done for the shows. Instead, we headed back up to the Coastal Kitchen for another breakfast (this time I opted for the Rainbow scrambler, BK went for the breakfast burrito and dev opted for the portabello omelet). The open kitchen made for some easy snaps of the crew in action. Then we headed to my brother's place in Bothell, where we finally had a chance to do some laundry and slow down (dev had an unpleasant surprise waking up in the morning to a sleeping bag which had encrusted puke flaking off the inside of the fabric--whose puke we weren't sure either, which only made the situation slightly nastier). We chilled, watching/listening to the video from the two previous nights' performances, and I finished up more work on modifying some digital pix of the Morris Graves estate into abstract image pieces. After a couple hours of that, dev did some PGA research and tracked down a nearby frisbee golf course which we trucked out to for a quick 9 holes and a little casual dope smoking with some ol skool disc golfers. As usual, I hit a lot of trees and made really good putts; dev had exceptional drives and solid follow-through. Afterwards, we drove back to Kevin's place in Bothell and tried to find a store with some good quality microbrews and another shop which might offer some flowers. We drove for miles trying to find even a grocery store, but encountered only department stores and an ethnic foods market. Does the average person in this place not shop for food or flowers? Then we saw a shop which said "Wine & Liquor" and we went inside to find exactly that--with no beer in sight! What kind of state is this?! We ended the evening quickly, with many laughs over Sierra Nevada pale ales my sister-in-law acquired, gourmet veggie pizzas and a video of "Best of Show," which had us rolling. Early to bed...
