OVNI are a 3 piece improvisational digital media "band" hailing from Boulder, CO and Boston, MA.
Starting June 21 they'll take their show on the road; featuring dueling laptops and synchronized live video OVNI will land in venues along the northwest coast. Destinations include: Replicate, the Arcata Theater in Eureka/Arcata, the Baltic Room and Nation in Seattle, and in Vancouver, BC at the Sugar Refinery.
Why Kitchen Design? It's simple according to devslashnull (not his real name), OVNI's lead laptop-ist, "we're sick of being let down by the future of our childhood's past" explains Null. "Where are the jet-packs, where are the moving sidewalks and vacations on Mars?" E23 adds, "We're here to reclaim the 'Kitchen of the Future' and abduct some folks too, maybe even get a cow."
"It's
all about failure, see," posits BK, the group's digital video guru.
"It was all supposed to be so spic 'n span, you know, the future;
computers running everything, even fixing you dinner, but all the computers
are totally jacked up, and so is our music." (more)
